Hiraeth
hiraeth (n.) — a Welsh word for longing; a deep ache for a home you can't return to, or one that never was.
Replace SillyTavern's default empty state with something that actually feels like home. Animated gradient backgrounds, time-aware greetings, and an integrated character browser with no ST interface bleed-through.
Overview
Hiraeth is a fully self-contained landing page that replaces SillyTavern's default empty state. It loads before ST's default page, giving you animated gradient backgrounds, a time-aware greeting that knows your name, and a built-in character browser with search and alphabetical grouping.
The whole thing is wrapped in a frosted glass aesthetic. No character cards, no avatars, no waifu gallery. Just atmosphere. Something you can have open on screen without needing to explain yourself.
Everything is configurable through a settings panel. Background mode, greeting text, layout alignment, clock, custom quotes, recent chat count. All settings persist across sessions.

Grab the .zip from the button above, then extract the Hiraeth folder into your extensions directory:
